Mar. 28, 2024: Former US President, Invoice Clinton, advocated for larger unity throughout the Caribbean area throughout his keynote deal with on the United Caribbean Discussion board held on the Arthur Chung Convention Centre in Guyana on March 26th.
Organized by the Dominican Republic (DR) Chamber of Commerce Guyana in collaboration with the Authorities of Guyana, the discussion board noticed Clinton, as Visitor of Honour, stressing the significance of Caribbean nations uniting for collective energy.
Highlighting the potential of partnerships between nations and organizations, Clinton expressed hope that collaborations just like the one between the Dominican Republic and Guyana would invigorate the Caribbean Group (CARICOM). He emphasised the ability of cooperation, stating, “We’re nearly at all times stronger collectively…we’re nearly at all times higher emphasizing issues that make us really feel greater.”
Whereas the Dominican Republic shouldn’t be a member of CARICOM, Clinton underscored the significance of regional cooperation, suggesting that nearer collaboration may foster progress throughout the Americas. He supplied help by the Clinton International Initiative to assist efforts aimed toward bridging gaps and selling unity throughout the area.
President Irfaan Ali echoed Clinton’s sentiments, highlighting the potential for partnership between Guyana and the Dominican Republic to deal with essential areas comparable to know-how, human useful resource growth, tourism, and meals manufacturing. He emphasised the necessity to leverage the DR’s experience to slender current gaps and propel Guyana in the direction of world management in varied sectors.
The discussion board, attended by diplomatic representatives together with the DR Ambassador to Guyana, the US Ambassador to Guyana, the European Union’s Ambassador to Guyana, and the British Excessive Commissioner to Guyana, served as a platform for discussions on enhancing cooperation and fostering growth throughout the Caribbean area.
